The Aquarium and The Zoo

We have gone lots of fun places this week! (probably to make up for the fact that I am leaving her with a babysitter more time than not the next two weeks for flowers) On Memorial Day we went to the Aquarium with Dave's family! To say Elsie loved it would be an understatement! She did her famous giggles the whole time! I think her favorite part were the penguins, jellyfish and trout!

On Wednesday we went up to the zoo with our friends across the street! It was the perfect day... not too hot or too cold! Elsie again loved seeing all the animals and being with her friends! She is one social girl! She got to see the monkeys, elephants (by far her favorite), tigers, rinos, giraffes, the bird show, we went on the carousal and a train ride! By the time we left she was so tuckered out she fell asleep before I left the parking lot!

California

A few weeks ago Elsie and I mad a trip out my to favorite place ever... Newport!!! When I was little we would go out there every summer! I love it there! We were so excited when our cute friends Annie and Quinn invited us out to stay with them! Elsie did great on the plane rides! Luckily on the way out Jet Blue upgraded our seats to more leg room and gave Elsie her own seat! It was heaven! The ride back was unfortunately nothing like the ride out... the whole flight was pack and the Long Beach Airport was a nightmare!! But we loved every minute of being out in California and seeing our friends Annie, Lizzie, Quinn and Jeddie! We went on lots of walks around Balboa and Carona Del Mar, we went to the beach, swimming, did lots of shopping at Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum. We visited Rogers Garden and even got to see our other friends Christine, Brandon and Luke! It was such a fun little get away! Thanks Annie, Danny and Quinn for letting us stay with you and for such a fun week! We love you guys!

Packing our bags..

And she's off...

I am a little late getting this up, but better late than never! Finally Elsie has decided to offically start walking (at 15 months) and in true Elsie fashion she is off and walking and is never looking back!

Dave's Birthday

On May 15th our favorite boy turned 32!!!!
We love love love him and we were so excited to celebrate him for an entire day!!

The night before we went to dinner at Market Street which is our favorite place ever!
His birthday was Sunday so it was not that eventful... We had a birthday breakfast and then after church we went up Harold and Micheles for a birthday dinner. The little girls got to play with their new kitchen and they loved it! They kept pretending to eat the food and Elsie was making the funniest noises!

Tulip Festival

We have been missing our besties Adrienne and Avery so we decided to meet them at the Tulip Festival this morning!
I love going to this and seeing all the flowers! It reminds me how much I want to plant bulbs this fall, and how I always forget! I will remember this year, I am determined!
After our delightful stroll we headed up to do some shopping!
Then we had a little lunch on the patio! The weather was perfect. It was the first lunch outside this year... finally! By the time we had lunch I think the girls we ready to bail, but they did great!

Thanks Sister and Miss Avery! We had a ball!!

Spring

Okay normally I don't consider myself a super busy person, but this past month I feel Like I have not even had a second to sit down! Luckily it has been weddings that are keeping me occupied so I can't complain! Ashley got married last week, I have a gorgeous wedding this weekend that I am so excited about, and I have been crazy busy with editorial shoots for Riehl Events. I will post on all that soon enough but for right now I just  need to catch up on Little Miss...( are you surprised? who else does my life revolve around?)

Here is Elsie with one of her favorite toys. She is starting to get obsessed with little trinket toys, she sticks them in her stroller, in bowls, in my purse or her diaper bag, in her purse, wherever she see fit. It makes me laugh!!
We had lots of fun bridal showers for my sister! Here is Elsie with Auntie Ashley
Yes my child has thunder thighs...
Over conference weekend we went down to St. George with our neighbors the Blacks. They were so nice to invite us down with their family, we had so much fun! It was a much need little vaca! Elsie was so so on the drive down. I thought for sure she would fall asleep but she didn't!
We went to Bear paw for breakfast. Here is Elsie and her little buddy Zacky!
Elsie is a little fish! She LOVES the water! She thinks she is a big kid (like always) and trys to swim. She kept sticking her face in the water and was loving every minute of it! Ashley's cute mom bought her a little floaty that she loved! She was in heaven!
We went through a stage of insisting that we feed ourselves with a spoon! What a nightmare. I don't think she is quite ready yet, luckily she has been over it for a few days now.
Couponing... what more can I say? Yes I have turned into a crazy coupon lady, yes I now I have stock pile in my storage room and yes I have been hiding it from the world. Its a little embarrassing to admit i went to WalMart at 2am to double coupon!  I will contribute a post to that later. For a few weeks this was taking over my life! It is addicting! $200 worth of stuff for $12!
Easter 2011
We had such a fun easter! It was a little crazy since my sister got married the day before, but it was so fun because we still had Tallis and Kaen in town. We had my family over that morning for brunch and an Easter Egg hunt. Kaen took the cutest pictures so once I get them I will put them up. Elsie was darling and was giggling the whole time! She loved finding the eggs and placing them in her basket.

I had to post this picture because it is so Elsie. Always at the gate trying to figure how to get out, and always standing on her tip toes! I love those chubby fat tiny little feet!
Our little book worm! To say she loves books in an understatement! They will keep her entertained for at least an hour, sometimes longer. She always either sits in her little chair or brings them to me to read! Dave and I are loving this little stage!
Okay I know, Bless them, this is a less than perfect picture, but how cute are they! This is one of Elsie's besties Savannah aka Banny! Every Wednesday we get to go up and play with Banny and Avery all day long! Elsie is in heaven the whole time and loves these girls with her whole heart! Everytime I tell her we are going to banny's and Avery's she smiles so big and starts to laugh!

Elsie is obsessed with rocking horses right now. She loves Savannah's and she loves the one at Dave's moms.  She gets rocking so fast I swear she is going to fly off!
Elsie takes a tumble!!! A few weeks ago at Savnnahs house Elsie was playing on the stairs, going up and down and up and down. She goes down the weirdest way and is always wanting to play on the stairs. Sure enough she goes crawling towards them a million miles looses her footing and pummels down the stairs! It was the saddest thing ever! It makes me sick every-time I think about it. We took her to Dr. Schmidt and luckily she looked just fine! I came back thinking she would avoid the stairs for a few hours. Oh no, she goes right back to them! That is my child!

"Hello Dad'
This is one of her favorite things to do! Dave was in St. George last weekend and she would pick up the phone and say "Hawoo, Da" Too cute!

14 Months

After Elsie turned one, I stopped posting about her monthly accomplishments. However, I feel like in the past two months she has changed so much!! Everyday she is growing up even more and becoming more and more independent. She is slowly leaving the baby stage and turning into a toddler. As much as it makes my eyes well up with tears (the poor thing will always be stuck with an overly sentimental mother), I get so happy to see her turn into her own little person! Words cant not express how grateful I am to have such a sweet little girl in my life and how blessed I am to be her mama! Being Elsie's mommy has taught me so much about myself and life in general. I feel like it has pushed me to become the person I have always wanted to be!
Our little Elle is quite the character! Oh boy is she just like her daddy in some ways! She is over the top social, loves love loves other kids, loves to ham it up for the camera and an audience, is so curious all the time, busy as they come, loves to laugh and giggle, loves to explore and loves to be on the go!
Here are some of my favorite things she has been doing...

-Anything that could even remotely resemble a phone she loves. She picks it up and says "Aello" Oh I love i!!
-She is a mountain goat! Seriously this girl can climb onto anything! The other day I knew she had crawled into the bathroom. She always manages to get into the tub so I went into get her and she was perched on all fours on top of the top in the corner where the shampoo goes. I have no idea how she even managed that one! She also crawled into her shopping cart the other day. Its like a 4x4 inch space but she managed to get in. She also loves stairs and has the funnies way of going down them. Unfortunately she crawled towards some a little too fast, lost her footing and tumbled down 15 stairs. It was the saddest thing but luckily Doctor Schimdt checked her out and she was fine!!
-She knows lots of animal sounds although she wont always say them for me, especially not on demand. She knows what a doggy says (both ruff and haha), a kitty, a cow, a horse, a sheep. a bunny (hop hop), a lizard, and we are working on bird and fish.
-Elsie is a book worm! She loves her books. I can leave her in her room and she will sit in her closet and play with her books for an hour!
-No no and ya ya are words we  hear all day long! She also says dada,  mama. nana, please, and bebe.
-She loves to play outside, especially when all the kids are out. She will sit on the swing with me forever and just watch all the kids play. Then there are time she thinks she is 5 and wants to run around with all the big kids. The child will not walk yet, she knows how to take steps but I am convinced she knows she gets around faster by crawling she this is what she prefers. She will crawl around outside in the grass, dirt, sidewalk, she tries to go for the street, whatever she needs to do to play with the kids. She loves barbie jeeps. All our neighbors have jeeps and every so often they will take her on a ride. She loves it! So now every time we pass a barbie jeep she wants to get in it.
-She is such a ham! She loves going to church and putting on a show. Sometimes she is the only baby in sunday school and priesthood, so she loves to go and around and do silly things to make people laugh! She also loves to go around during sacrament and see what all the other kids are doing.
- Her new thing lately is to take some of her clothes of my clothes and wrap the around her face or shoulders like a cape. It is the funnies thing! It reminds Dave of his old home video "old grandma", where they make Eric do the same thing.
-She is not insisting on feeding herself with a spoon. My child is the worlds messiest eater. It is a joke! Every time she is done eating I need to vacuum and mop the floor, wash her clothes and put her in the bath.
- She know how to do puzzles and shape sorters all by herself! The other she was playing in the toy room and I walked in and saw her putting the shapes in the puzzle all by herself!
-She loves to jabber all the time, even to herself!
-She gets so excited so easily! She will be in her high chair and all of the sudden start to shake it and clap her hands and shake her head and start to giggle so hard! Such a character!
-Loves it when you tickled her hand, especially when she is drinking her night time bottle
-Sticks her tongue out when she is focusing on something
-My favorite thing he does it pat all of her babies and stuffed animals. She will bring them to her face, hug them, pat them and say "Ahhh" It is adorable!!

I can't believe how fast she has grown up in these past few moths! She is on one nap and is sleeping like a champ in her room! No more dark basement! She graduated to her crib!! We love this little girl and her golden personality! She is the light of our lives-so sweet, so outgoing, so fun!!
