San Francisco

Can I start out by saying that I love love love this city! I seriously would move there in a heart beat but thats not in the cards so we settle for visits! My brother has lived there the last six years and this year we went for his wedding!!!

Here we are checking our stuff. It was insane how much we needed for Elsie
She did so good on the plane! Luckily it was only and 1 1/2 hour flight, but she slept for most of it and was happy when she was awake!

We arrived late Thursday night and went straight to bed. The next morning my mom, sister and I headed straight to the salon to get mani/pedi's. They are so cheap there and they are great!! I love that you walk every where.
My dad rented a place on VRBO and it was right across the street from Ghiradelli square by the wharf so we had great views from the balcony
Ash and Chad
(who got engaged right before we left!)

Elsie was such a sport the whole time. This was basically how she lived the entire week-in her stroller while we dragged her around
It was so fun to see Kimberly! She was there for Alex's internship and we saw her the day before she left!!
Ghirardelli Square
Friday night we had the rehearsal for the wedding. Kaen's cute nieces Lyla and Katana loved Elsie. They always wanted to play with "baby Elasie" and she loved them right back
Friday while we went to the rehearsal and did the flowers Dave and Chad went to the Giants game. This was what he came back with for Elsie
Saturday was the wedding in Crockett and it was beautiful! Kaen and her family worked so hard and they pulled off such a fun wedding

My dad married them and he did such a good job
During the reception we changed into traditional Lao clothing and did traditional dances
we loved it, it was so much fun

We went to the cutest little tea salon and they even brought out some things for Elle

We love love love Bob's donuts, especially late at night when they are hot from the grease

Of course we had so so much fun in San Francisco. The shopping and food was amazing, I was able to take on taxis with my mom, Elsie and her car seat and stroller, Dave and I got Thai massages that were amazing, we had so much fun with Kaen and Tallis, we went to the beaches in Marin, my dad took Elies 6 month pictures at Chrissy Fields, and I was able to go to all my favorite places!
My parents were so nice and attempted to take Elsie home with them a day early so Dave and I could stay just the two of us. Of course I cried and cried but I was excited to have a morning to sleep in. A few hours later they called and said their flight had been canceled. It turned into a mess, Elsie had a melt down at security, and they had to stay at a hotel by the airport with her
overnight. Luckily they got on our same flight so we all meet up in the morning and all was well!

Overall it was a successful trip and so fun to get away!!

6 Months

Little Miss Elsie:

I swear I was just writing your five month letter yesterday! You are growing up so fast I feel like if I blink I will miss something. What a fun month this has been. You are getting so big and I feel like you have transitioned a lot the last few weeks. You officially sat up all on your own last night which was your 6 month birthday, and this morning you decided to give rolling over another chance, and you rolled over again all on your own. You are starting to pivot during tummy time (which you like now) and you love to roll over and sleep on your side. You love to eat your rice cereal and veggies and fruit. So far the only thing you have not liked is some apricot I gave the other night. It was a little too sour so you spit it out and shook your body. You also love to grab plates of food or anything that anyone else is eating. I am convinced you wish you were older so you could play with the big kids and eat big kid food. But for now I am happy to have you as my baby girl. You still are very vocal and social. You love to make all sorts of noises- your new one is a deep air gasping noise. You are such a giggly girl, especially at night. You think everything is so funny while you eat and you just crack up! I love to hear you laugh, it is by far my favorite thing in the world. You have the cutest little squeal and your whole face lights up. You are very friendly and smile at almost everyone. You have started to whimper when I hand you to someone you are a little unsure about and you can't see me. It makes me feel bad for whoever is holding you but I love that I can make it better. I have had to leave you with Nana lots lately which makes me so sad and it was made you a little clingy. When I come to get you, if I leave the room at all you cry because I think you think I am leaving. But all of this is very rare and 90% of the time you are happy as a lark to play with anyone. You react the best to high pitched voices- I wonder why? Look who talks to you all day. You still love reading books and now you are starting to want to eat them and help me turn the page. I think your new favorite is Froggy Green because you love to look at colors. You of course still love your swing despite my best efforts. I think you are slowly starting to grow out of it but I mean slowly. You can stay up a lot longer so now you only take two naps in the day and a little cat nap before dinner. However you are not a morning person and you have to go back to sleep pretty soon after you wake up. You also have a hard time sleeping other places. Its not horrible but its not ideal. We are working on it. You still love motion and will sleep in the car, on the four wheelers, while I am walking, in the baby bjorn or in the stroller. I always joke that if we had gone to Lake Powell this year, would would have slept the whole time. It would have been paradise to you with all the motion. You love love love when people sing to you. Nana is always singing to you and you love it. You also know your name now and you will turn your head when we say it. It is so funny to let you talk to people on the phone. If Daddy calls I put your ear to the phone. You know who he is but you can't figure out where he is. It is pretty funny!! You are so cute to play with your toys and you love your activity center. I bought you a new toys-Sophie the giraffe. I thought you would love it because you love to eat things but you are not too found of it. You are a very content and happy baby. You are very easy to please and we love you for that! You have been a little fussy the last few weeks because we can see four teeth coming in, but they have not broken through yet. You love to kick kick kick those cutest chubby thighs and swat your little arms at things. You are so fun to be around and we love playing with you all day! Elsie you are everything we could have ever imagined and more! You make everyone that sees you so happy and we feel so lucky to have you in our family!! We feel so blessed that you are healthy and happy- we couldn't ask for anything more. You are our world and we adore you!!
