March in Review

We could eat this little sweetie up! She has started to smile and it is the cutest ever!
Don't mind her "shine face"... poor little girl has a bad milk rash and I put aquaphor on it

Our little Leprechaun on St. Patrick's Day

Goodbye Pack and Play

Hello Crib

Elsie now sleeps in her own room in her crib and through the night!!

Meeting my Great-Grandmas for the first time!!

Great-Grandma Mimi

Great-Grandma Ginnie

We are getting much better at putting ourselves to sleep without being held (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree...apparently I had to be held as a baby all the time)

Awake and happy

Suddenly asleep for her nap

Yes this is her "fancy" bib....No its not a clown suite like Dave likes to call it....Yes she spits up ALL the time....No acid reflux doesn't have to cramp your style

This is her "scar face" pictures....poor little thing gauged her face while in the bath. I need to clip her fingernails better but it freaks me out!

Last but not least.....As if I have not put up a million pictures already, Elsie has out grown all her newborn outfits. So being the mother I am, I of course stuffed her in them so I could get some farewell pictures. This outfit is my favorite...she doesn't look amused!

History Repeats Itself

I am a little embarrassed how late I am writing about this...but it is something that has to be documented! Better late than never!

So Adrienne and I have been BFF's since we were born... literally. Our brothers were good friends and so were our moms, Adrienne was born in September and I arrived exactly 2 months later in November. It was destined.
We shared a common bond when we were young.... we both were INCREDIBLY awkward and we simply refused to accept the fact that we had to grow up and go on to middle school. I am talking like still doing lemonade stands at 14, still being obsessed with Winnie the Pooh at like 15 (we got Winnie the Pooh eating sets meant for babies), having an imaginary cooking friend named Jonathan, making friends with a Bee named Bernard that we saw every year, spying on our neighbors, obsession with cash registers, watching rodeos and unsolved mysteries every Friday night while our parents went to the symphony. It was bad enough that our brothers wanted to stage an intervention.
We turned out great needless to say... it was just a phase...a very long phase!

So flash forward ten years, we are still BFF's and still a little weird together (creating a rap group up on campus) and now have two little girls!!

Avery was born the end of November and Elle was born the beginning of February. A little over 2 months!

Here they are meeting for the first time! They had a fabulous play date and are already destined to be BFF's like their mammas! Lets just hope they are not as terribly akward!

Since Adrienne was a stand up comedian in her past life you now need to read her version of the story here ( it is much much funnier)

One Month Old

Baby Girl:

You are getting so big! I love to see you grow, but it breaks my heart at the same time. I could hold you, cuddle you, and rock you forever! You have completely captured our hearts and we are so glad you are ours! You have such a sweet little personality. After you are done eating you just look around contently and seem so happy. You also love to stare at faces very intently, and pull the cutest faces yourself. You love to curl your little lips into an "o" and open your eyes really wide at us, and then immediately after you give us a little smile! You love, love, love to be held and cuddled tight, so I swaddle you up and hold you close and then you are in heaven! When you decide you are hungary or uncomfortable in any way you sure let us know! You might be a tad bit impatient, but both your parents are too! We are working on you learning how to put yourself to sleep without being held all the time. I dont blame you for loving to be held when you to go to sleep, I would like it too. There is always someone over that wants to hold you, but you are doing great and learning to fall asleep on your own! You love to sleep on your side with your little cheek touching something, and I think you get it from your mama! You absolutely love bath time and story time. Everytime we put you in the bath, you dip your little right leg into the water and relax, and it is so funny! You also love driving in the car (of course) and also when I have the blow dryer on. You love to sleep on daddys chest in the morning and watch the today show in bed with us! It truly is the best time of the day! You also love music! I put on your little piano portraits lullaby cd and you are in heaven again! It immediately calms you down, which is such a blessing. I hope one day you realize you do have a name and its not just "baby", because I think daddy and I have only called you by Elsie or Elle maybe like five times. But....... you are just OUR baby! It fits you perfectly! We love you so much little girl and we are so happy you are here. You bring such a sweet spirit into our home! You're our little beauty!

Dear Elsie:

I am sorry you have such a crazy Dad who does crazy things with you all day! But I am sure one day you will grow to love how he has you "walk" around the house, how he has you "swing" from tree tops to tree tops, how he prints off your look a like pictures and how he sings the same phrase to you all day "babies dressed as cats" and "babies dressed as babies". Yes he is silly but we love him! I already know you are such a daddys girl!

Love Mommy

ps I hope one day you can forgive us for the mousekewitz and curious george pictures! Your so dang cute! We love you!

My first solo outing

So other than my quick trips to the grocery store I finally got a little night out to myself.
I went and got a pedicure with these cute girls! It was so much fun and much needed!!
On a side note Dave and I actually have gone out the past two weekends. First to Yapona and Costco
and then the next weekend to see Dear John. We are so lucky to have grandparents that beg us to watch Elle!
