Happy 1st Birthday Elsie

Elsie Sophia:

Can you believe you are already one year?? I can't!! It brings tears to mommy's eyes to think how fast you are going up! What a sentimental day today has been so far!! This time last year you were just hours old and my whole world changed forever!! You are the best thing to ever happen to me (besides marrying your cute daddy) and I am so blessed to be your mom!! This year has been so fun to watch you grow. It is amazing!! Everyday you learn multiple new things and hit new milestones. This past month you have especially grown up. I feel like you are leaving the baby stage and slowly turning into a toddler. It is so fun to interact with you more and see more of your personality come out, but at the same time your Mommy is a baby and has a hard time letting her baby grow up!!! I feel like it goes by so fast that its not far. I want to remember every stage and memorize every precious moment!!
What a sweet little thing you are!! You now officially say Mama (finally) all the time! You say it so sweet, it is the best thing I have ever heard. You are starting to be more cuddly again and I love it! You are so busy and on the move all day long (not walking yet) but every once and awhile you will stop and lift your arms up, look at me with your sweet little eyes and say Mama!! That is the moment that I live for!! I can't thank you enough for turning me into a Mommy and allowing me to take care of you and love you day in and day out!! There is nothing in the world I would rather do than be your Mommy!!
It is so fun to see your personality come out even more.... you are still as curious as they come!! You have to check everything out for yourself! All day long I hear you banging your little hands on the wood floors as you crawl around so vivaciously. If you think for a second any door is open to the bathroom or pantry or laundry room, you high tail it as fast as you can so you can get tin there before I shut the door. You are so determined!! You have to intricately examine everything and you get so frustrated if we take something away! I hate to admit it but you are starting to throw mini tantrums. It cam on so fast! Luckily that last only a few seconds and you are quickly to forgot, but man you let us know if you don't like something! When you want to get out of your high chair you bang it so hard so your food flies everywhere or you go limp if we pick you up and take you away from your toys. You also hurry and grab things as fast as you can if you know you shouldn't touch them. You are a funny one!! You have so much spirit and personality but at the same time you are so so sweet and easy going! You still are the most social little thing! You love crowds and running errands because you just sit and socialize and people watch... I wonder where you got that??!! You love other kids and are so good when playing! You have lots and lots of friends and love to play so hard! You love playing with cousin Brooklyn and getting to see Miss Haldey. She loves you and dotes over you and you love it!! It is so sweet to see how social and loving you are. You are still very aware of others around you and their feelings. You get so worried if another baby is crying or someone is upset! You catch on to other peoples energy fast!!
You are so smart and the fastest learner. You catch on to things and have started to imitate us! You talk on the phone, blow on your food, put on your lotion, clean your face and the floors, wave bye bye!! The other day I was helping you to learn something on your house front. You caught on so well and within minutes, you could do it yourself. You are also so good at shapes, thanks to Grandpa!! You also get so excited when you learn something new. You clap your hands, your eyes light up and you look at us to make sure we are watching. Yesterday you learned how to turn the lights on and off and you were so excited!! You also learned how to sort of color and you should have seen how proud you were! You are so stinking cute!!!
You are still quite the little talker. Our little parakeet! You make little bird noises all day long and you are such a jabber!! You can say "uh oh", "ho ho ho","ruff ruff","moo", "dada", "dad", "mama", "no", "don't", (that might tell you how busy you are), "nana"! You will randomly just turn to us and in all seriousness jabber something like we should understand and we are having a conversation! It is too funny!!
You are starting to stand a little bit, and you take steps with your walker. You also learned how to get in and out of your little chair, and you can now climb up the stairs!! But of course you have no fear and you just start to let go!! Crazy girl!! You still love puppies and when we get to Grandpa Harold's you "ruff ruff" looking for the dogs. You love stuffed animals and you are so cute to cuddle them! You love to rock them and hug them! You are starting to watch shows a little... 5 minuets max, but you love Blue's Clues. Probably because of the dog. You still love the tub and now you are starting to get crazy in there, splashing so hard and climbing everywhere! The other day you dive bombed into the empty tub trying to get it!
A few days ago you choked really bad.. you always choke a little, but you always seem to work it up. This time you couldn't catch your breath and you started to turn blue and act like you were going to pass out. It scared Mama so bad, but we lifted your arms up and you worked it out. We took you to the doctors just to be safe. They gave you an X-ray yo make sure you didn't swallow anything. You were so good the whole time, but you got a little worried laying on the table when the machine started making noises. You also threw up on the doctor when he checked your throat ( what else is new, you still have the MOST sensitive gag reflex). Luckily you were fine and they said it was most likely reflux that you choked on. That's our girl.... always keeping us on our toes!!
Oh Elsie girl, how much you grown this month!! I want you to know how loved you are!! We have been so blessed to have you in our lives and are so happy you are our little girl!! You are such a happy and delightful little girl! You have the most infectious giggle and brightest smile! You are always so bubbly and laughing... we love that about you!! You are always so happy to play, learn and explore!! You are so content and easy going!! We hope you always stay sweet and curious and full of personality!! You are so beautiful inside and out and we hope you always remember how special you are!!

January

With February right around the corner, along with Elsie's First Birthday!!... here is January in review!

Big girl Elsie in her big girl chair!!
And being her funny little self... always having to have something in her mouth!
That hair... it is in need of a trim however, but I am having a hard time cutting it. I am afraid she will look too old!
Oh my gosh this picture kills me... too funny!
Dave put her in one of his shirts and she thought it was so funny!!

One of her first times watching a show... it lasted 10 mins. She wouldn't take her afternoon nap so I made her a bed and turned on Yo Gabba Gabba... which is a scary show if you ask me
Curling her hair before church
We put Elsie in her big girl car seat! She is in heaven and loves it!!
This girl and her spaghetti... need I say more?
We took Elsie to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway. She loved it, but we definitely are waiting to go back until she can walk and doesn't stick everything in her mouth!

This was one of the first dresses I bought when I found out we were having a girl! I love this dress... don't worry that the next day Dave dried it and it shrunk... so sad!

Playing dress up! She is starting to put headbands and clips on her head, so I decided to help her out!
 My future little piano player!
This is what my days are like... she loves to crawl under this thing and play. Never-mind my filthy floors, but she is so funny and always busy doing the most random things!

11 Months

Babies Elsie;

My my how you are growing up fast!! So fast I can barely keep up with you!! You are full of life, energy, and spunk!! Every day you develop new tricks and hit new milestones. You are a little talker!! You can say  "oh oh", "ho ho ho" (we say "what does Santa say" and you say "ho ho ho") , "dada", "mama", "nana", and "moo".  You are very into the "ohhh" right now, with your cute puckered lips! You are always jabbering away and it is so cute!! You have started to stand up on everything and you can now take steps with your little grocery cart. You have gotten so fast and crawling and let me tell you little girl, you are IN TO EVERYTHING!!! You are so curious and aware of your surrounding, you are always on the move from one thing to the next checking everything out. You love drawers and everything you shouldn't. You have no fear! We forgot to shut the gate to the stairs one day and you crawled right over to the very edge, turned around so your back was to the stairs and you started to just play... living on the edge! You are just a sweetheart and you are definitely aware of others around you and their feelings. If you think we are hurt you get so worried and concerned. You LOVE other little kids!! We go up to Savannah and Avery's once a week and it is by far your favorite thing!! Sometimes I feel bad that you are an only child right now, because you love having other kids around!! During church you love going around and playing with all the other kids. You are so social and love to be around other people. If we are somewhere and there are other people around, you will not go to bed, you know you are missing out on a party. You do so well in crowds and love to just be hanging out with everyone! And you will let anyone hold you which of course is so nice!! You are still really easy going and content, but you are starting to get more head strong and you are starting to get frustrated if you cant have something you want. You love to dance around to music, you move your arms around like little wings. You also love to clap all the time! When you get upset (especially when we change you) you will instantly calm down if we sing to you! You love to look at yourself in the mirror and look at pictures! I think it is one of your favorite things to do... you get so excited to see yourself! You will also "kiss the baby" if you see your reflection! You are excellent at drinking out of a sippy and love juice and water. We had to take you up to Primary childrens to get a VURL done. You had a really bad bladder infection and they wanted to check you out. You did so good, even during the VURL test!! You were so brave and did awesome!! You are such a good girl!! We could never tell you how much you mean to us baby girl!! We are so lucky and blessed to be your parents!! We hope you always stay as sweet as you are now and continue to be curious!! You are perfect in every way!!

Christmas

Holidays are so much more fun now that we have Elsie around!
Here is an overload of pictures of our Christmas!!

Elsie trying on her snowsuit for the first time to make sure it fit!!
Hse loves wearing this thing because she thinks she is so funny in it

The first day it snowed we called up cousin Brooklyn to play! They were both mesmerized and didn't quite know what to do!

Elsie and Dave built a snowman
We got to go to Hadley's Madeline birthday party!
Okay I know this picture is awfully frightening, but can I tell you it is my child to a T!! This is seriously what she looks like when she is crawling! She is a woman on a mission... a mission to destruct! I love this baby, she is the sweetest, happiest little girl but let me tell you, she is BUSY!!! She crawls around frantically from one thing to the next checking everything out and getting into everything! She has no fear!
We went to see the lights twice this year. Once with Morgs, Todd, Hadley and Preston and then again with my family

On Christmas Eve we went to lunch with Dave's family, and then had everyone over to our house to make cookies and watch movies. It was so much fun and the girls loved it!!

That night we went with my family to dinner. We have been going out to diner as long as I can remember and I love it! This year we went to Rodizio's and it was so good!

When we got home, books and Christmas jammies were waiting for Elsie in her bed

She loved this!! It was so cute to see her get so excited!!

Christmas Morning!!

After we had our own Christmas, we went to my family's in the morning

Elsie got this little fire truck sit and scoot from my mom that she LOVES!! She also got the fischer price house front and it is by far the greatest toy ever!! She will play with it forever!

On our way over to Dave's parents for the afternoon we stopped by my Grandpa's for a little bit to see all of my cousins. MY Grandpa has the cutest dog named Bubbles and Elsie is obsessed!!! She is always grabbing her and chasing her down!
We spent Christmas afternoon and night with Dave's family
Here are the cute little girls with even more presents. They both got cute little kitchens which they love and some clothes!!
I was helping Elsie push the stroller around and funny Brooklyn hopped in for a ride. They both were giggling so hard!
Then they switched! They are too funny together!
