14 Months

After Elsie turned one, I stopped posting about her monthly accomplishments. However, I feel like in the past two months she has changed so much!! Everyday she is growing up even more and becoming more and more independent. She is slowly leaving the baby stage and turning into a toddler. As much as it makes my eyes well up with tears (the poor thing will always be stuck with an overly sentimental mother), I get so happy to see her turn into her own little person! Words cant not express how grateful I am to have such a sweet little girl in my life and how blessed I am to be her mama! Being Elsie's mommy has taught me so much about myself and life in general. I feel like it has pushed me to become the person I have always wanted to be!
Our little Elle is quite the character! Oh boy is she just like her daddy in some ways! She is over the top social, loves love loves other kids, loves to ham it up for the camera and an audience, is so curious all the time, busy as they come, loves to laugh and giggle, loves to explore and loves to be on the go!
Here are some of my favorite things she has been doing...

-Anything that could even remotely resemble a phone she loves. She picks it up and says "Aello" Oh I love i!!
-She is a mountain goat! Seriously this girl can climb onto anything! The other day I knew she had crawled into the bathroom. She always manages to get into the tub so I went into get her and she was perched on all fours on top of the top in the corner where the shampoo goes. I have no idea how she even managed that one! She also crawled into her shopping cart the other day. Its like a 4x4 inch space but she managed to get in. She also loves stairs and has the funnies way of going down them. Unfortunately she crawled towards some a little too fast, lost her footing and tumbled down 15 stairs. It was the saddest thing but luckily Doctor Schimdt checked her out and she was fine!!
-She knows lots of animal sounds although she wont always say them for me, especially not on demand. She knows what a doggy says (both ruff and haha), a kitty, a cow, a horse, a sheep. a bunny (hop hop), a lizard, and we are working on bird and fish.
-Elsie is a book worm! She loves her books. I can leave her in her room and she will sit in her closet and play with her books for an hour!
-No no and ya ya are words we  hear all day long! She also says dada,  mama. nana, please, and bebe.
-She loves to play outside, especially when all the kids are out. She will sit on the swing with me forever and just watch all the kids play. Then there are time she thinks she is 5 and wants to run around with all the big kids. The child will not walk yet, she knows how to take steps but I am convinced she knows she gets around faster by crawling she this is what she prefers. She will crawl around outside in the grass, dirt, sidewalk, she tries to go for the street, whatever she needs to do to play with the kids. She loves barbie jeeps. All our neighbors have jeeps and every so often they will take her on a ride. She loves it! So now every time we pass a barbie jeep she wants to get in it.
-She is such a ham! She loves going to church and putting on a show. Sometimes she is the only baby in sunday school and priesthood, so she loves to go and around and do silly things to make people laugh! She also loves to go around during sacrament and see what all the other kids are doing.
- Her new thing lately is to take some of her clothes of my clothes and wrap the around her face or shoulders like a cape. It is the funnies thing! It reminds Dave of his old home video "old grandma", where they make Eric do the same thing.
-She is not insisting on feeding herself with a spoon. My child is the worlds messiest eater. It is a joke! Every time she is done eating I need to vacuum and mop the floor, wash her clothes and put her in the bath.
- She know how to do puzzles and shape sorters all by herself! The other she was playing in the toy room and I walked in and saw her putting the shapes in the puzzle all by herself!
-She loves to jabber all the time, even to herself!
-She gets so excited so easily! She will be in her high chair and all of the sudden start to shake it and clap her hands and shake her head and start to giggle so hard! Such a character!
-Loves it when you tickled her hand, especially when she is drinking her night time bottle
-Sticks her tongue out when she is focusing on something
-My favorite thing he does it pat all of her babies and stuffed animals. She will bring them to her face, hug them, pat them and say "Ahhh" It is adorable!!

I can't believe how fast she has grown up in these past few moths! She is on one nap and is sleeping like a champ in her room! No more dark basement! She graduated to her crib!! We love this little girl and her golden personality! She is the light of our lives-so sweet, so outgoing, so fun!!

A Milk & Cookies Type of Day

Like I said before, Elsie's molars are coming in with full force... all at the same time. She was having a rough day to say the least. I decided she needed some  nilla wafers to cheer her up. Then I decide I needed some, but with milk. Oh she saw this and was all over it!! So this was how we spent our afternoon...

March

I have not posted anything we have done lately. It might be due to the fact that Elsie has been sick 4 times in the last month and a half , croup, stomach flu, and sinus infection (2 times) AND she is getting all four molars in at the same time. We have had a lot of this going on at our house...

However, she is turing a corner and going back to her happy little self!
We were lucky enough to go to Disney on Ice with Elsie's BFF Hadley and Preston and my BFF Morgan. Elsie was in heaven!!! She was so excited she could hardly sit still. Unfortunately she missed her afternoon nap that day so after intermission she was not so happy. It was nothing a little candy and sprite couldn't fix. Elsie had never had soda pop before and she was in heaven!

Elle also got her first haircut! It was about time I trimmed up her mullet. It was looking so scary that I finally decided to barely trim off the ends myself. I didn't want it to look like she had gotten a full on haircut so i just tried to cut of the middle part that was longer than the rest.

Her first lock of hair
The end result... it looks much better in person... I promise!

My little mountain goat... this girl is on the move 24/7. I let her just crawl around the house while I pick it up , but every few minutes I have to check on her to make sure she is not into to much trouble. This is what I found the last few times....

I don' know how she even managed to climb into the tub by herself without falling. This is why the door is supposed to always be shut!

I love this picture of Elsie and her Baby Stella or "bebe" as she calls her! Elsie is such a snuggler when it comes to anything soft. She will always put it right up to her check and say "ahh" it is so cute! She even was doing it with her bib the other day!

Here are the two loves of my life!! They make me so happy!
Our little St. Patrick's Day leprechaun!
Last but not least, I leave you with some high chair pics...

Here is Elsie with her cousin eating some dinner...these two are the cutest but they can be trouble with a capital T
And our messiest eater! We were going somewhere after and I knew she would ruin her clothes so I made her eat in her diaper. Oh and her new favorite toy... some pack man thing! She gets a kick out of it!
Love that little girl!

Killing Some Terrorists....

That is a horrible name for a post. but it fits perfectly for the horrible game! Dave is addicted to a video game...I can't even remember what the dumb thing is called. I always call it "War of Worlds" which is totally wrong and Dave always is so fast to correct me! I could go look in my bedroom (yes I said bedroom!!! that is where is plays of all places) to see the name of the stupid game that has TAKEN over my husbands life...but I am to lazy! Dave always says "honey I am killing some terrorists" so that is what we will call the crazy game that I have come accustomed to.  I know he is not alone, he plays with anyone and everyone(even the neighborhood kids), and it has come up in topic of conversation where other people says they have husbands/boyfriends addicted to it to!!
So, my whole point of the post is to share this hilarious story that sums up my life perfectly!!

Dave had just come home from work and Elsie wouldn't take her second nap. I was loosing my patients and had to get some stuff done that I couldn't do with the little miss who thinks she needs to do everything she sees me doing. I gave elsie to Dave and asked if he would watch her for a few minutes while I checked my RE emails. Two minutes later I see him hooking up the stupid play station in our room.. whatever he can do what he wants. I reminded him to watch Elsie. Another two minutes go by and she is crying on the floor. I can hear him putting her up on the bed. Of course all she wants to do it crawl to the edge so to distract her he gives her his head set. He yells for me to look at her and this is what I see...

Dave's dream... he is convinced Elsie will be "the coolest little girl who will want to do everything her dad love to do"..ie play video games and golf!

So I take some pictures and go back to do what I am trying to get done. 30 seconds later I hear Dave yelling "Heather she ate it" Elsie is notorious for trying to eat EVERTHING!! I go in and ask what he is talking about. He tells me that she was playing with the foam part of the microphone and he is positive that by the time he noticed she had it and he heard her swallow it. Okay so the foam thing is not that big, but it is probably the size of a big olive. Instantly I tell him she would be choking if she had. No he tells me he is 100% positive he heard and saw her swallow it. I call the doctor just in case (Elsie has a history of choking and last time they thought she may have had something in her lungs that could cause her is aspirate, so I am a little paranoid), thinking he would just say oh don't worry. Oh no, the doctor on call tells me that this could be a real problem and to have a plan incase she starts to have trouble swallowing liquid, in that case she would need to go the ER and get it removed if it was stuck in her throat. Oh great! Mind you that while all of this is going on Dave is STILL playing his game like nothing is happening. I tell him what the doctor said and asked him to give her a drink and see what she does. Oh no, he still is playing. He tells me its almost over. After I  mention the ER, he gets right up and grabs her a drink. Now apparently he is worried. She acts fine and so I told him to still keep and eye on her. Meanwhile I facebook about this and get 11 comments in 30 seconds. Everyone guys thinks it hilarious, they are even asking for his screen name to play together!
Ten minutes go by, Dave is still playing his game when all of the sudden he yells " I found it!!" I go in there and ask what he is talking about. I walk in to see him holding the foam part that he was so convinced Elsie swallowed!!
What  a dork!

I told him he is a great dad and always makes sure Elsie has fun, but if he were her only parent she would not survive!!

Happy 2 Years

On March 12th, Dave and I had our 2 year anniversary! It feels like we have been married so so much longer than that (in a good way)! My parents watched Elsie while we went and got massages, went shopping and had the best dinner ever at Ruth's Chris. We picked Elsie up and came home and watched a movie. It was so fun to get out and do something with Dave alone. We always either have Elsie or are with someone, so it was a fun change to just be the two of us!

I miss our wedding! Best day of my life... beside the day Miss Elsie was born. I also say I wish I could re-do our wedding day once a year!
Dave is a crack up and definitely keeps me on my toes!! Sometimes he makes me laugh so hard and can't breathe. He is perfect for me!  He is a fly by the seat of your pants type of person and is keeping me young. Hopefully I contribute somewhere in the equation! We always have so much fun together and I cant imagine my life any other way!!
I love you babe!!

A day in the life of...

Miss Elsie!!

She may not be walking yet, but this little girl is BUSY!! She basically likes to play with everything she should not! If you tell her not to do something, she looks right at you and does it anyway. She knows the drawers and things she shouldn't play with so when she thinks I am not looking, what does she do? Goes for it! She is just like her Daddy!... they don't like to  be told what to do!! But on the other hand she is such a sweetheart, happy, happy, happy and so easy going that after I take something away she forgets all about it and is happy as a clam!! Also just like her daddy!!

Here are the adventures of Elsie...

She wakes up in the morning and has Breakfast. She however HAS to feed herself! She has been doing this since about 9 months. I am fine with it for the most part, except when I try to feed with things the require a spoon (ie applesauce) and she of course needs to do it!
This is what we end of up!
Why is she not wearing a bib you ask... of course she takes it off as soon as I put it on!

Then we have some play time. This is one of Elsie' favorite play areas... of course! Lets choose a shelf with all sorts of heavy things! She takes the baskets off the lower shelf and climbs right in! She thinks she is so funny!!

Then we get our diaper changed before our first nap! She hates this and always try to crawl away while I am changing her. After, while I am throwing away the diaper, this is what I come back to....
Before we go down, we always have to take inventory of our shoes and try them on!! This is with out a doubt her favorite spot in the house!
After our naps we are all revved up and ready to terrorize!! Let's see.. what it the first dangerous thing I can find... Of course!! I bin full of old broken lights!!
(Don't you love her get up as well!!)

This girl is seriously going to be a cleaning lady one day.
This is her second favorite place in the house. I think its because it is the only drawer in the kitchen I let her open. She pulls out all the rags and furiously wipes the floor down.

After she has gone through the house she will finally play with her toys!

But soon she gets bored and heads for another all time favorite... the bathrooms!!

But while she is in there unrolling all the toilet paper, she remembers that she loves the laundry room!
So off she will go.... toilet paper and all!!
Her final destination before her mama is exhausted and needs her to take another nap...
The laundry room... so she can dive into the basket!!

THE END!!!

You are busy baby girl!! But we love you just the way you are!! xoxo

Valentines Day

Since Valentines Day was on a Monday this year, we had a little weekend celebration of love...

Elsie usually is a little ham for the camera but she was not having any of it this time!

Saturday, Dave and I went up to Snake Creek Grill in Heber with our friends Tommy and Carly.
Okay I am HIGHLY recommending the place! Best. Food. Ever!!

Last but not least, I leave you with this....
We went to Costco and Elsie was in her darling little Valentines strawberry dress. She looked liked a doll! But of course in true Elsie fashion she coughed and threw up all over it! She had to ride home in just her diaper, leggings and shoes. When we got home, Dave's mom was dropping off Elsie's Valentines gift. She bought the girls these darling little vest. Of course Elsie wanted to put it on... this is what we ended up with!!
