Elsie's New Trick

This is Dave's favorite new thing to do with Elsie

3 Months Old

My beautiful baby girl:

Today you are three months old and you continue to find ways to capture our hearts every day! I feel like three months is such a milestone. It is a funny thing because I now know you are officially not a newborn, but everyday you do and discover new things and it makes me so proud of you! I think that is just called Motherhood.

You are such a little explorer and are very curious already. You love to look around are everything and are very content sitting and watching the world around you. You are starting to stick other things in your mouth besides your chubby little hands and your prized binki. I found you the other day just trying to gnaw away at your rattle. You also love social interaction. My how you are a chatty little thing! But look who your parents are. We love how much you coo and "talk" to us. It is as if you are having an actual conversation with us. You love to just sit back and smile constantly and talk and laugh. I have your darling little laugh/smile ingrained in my mind and I hope I never forget it. It is precious! You are laughing more and more each day and I know any day now you will break out into a full on chuckle. Grandpa (my dad) says when you smile and laugh and throw her head back it reminds him of your daddy. I think everyday you are looking more like your dad but you are still a pretty even mix of the two of us.

You still sleep like a gem at night and I love you for this! I put you down at 8 or 8:30 and a feed you for 5 min around 10:30 (you never even open your eyes for this) then you go straight down and sleep until 7:30 or 8. Thank you thank you! Your naps are getting much much better too. No more 45 min naps. You are on to bigger and bigger. At least 2 long naps a day and little naps in between. You are such a happy girl when you have gotten enough rest. You wake up so happy and Daddy and I fight over who gets you in the morning. But you still take your sleeping and eating very seriously. Watch out if your hungry or tired... you sure do know how to throw a fit. We don't mind though... we know you will be very expressive when your older. You also have this sweet little baby lamb cry. It is the cutest thing ever. You do an extreme pout and whimper. It makes me laugh so hard and then you start cracking up!

Your newest trick is bowing bubbles. You love it! You know it makes us laugh so you love to do it when people are talking to you. You also love it when when we blow bubbles and you do it back. Its a little game for you. Your neck is getting so strong. When we do tummy time you can hold your head up 90 degrees for a little bit. Then you get mad and you are over tummy time. You are getting so close to rolling over too. You almost have it! You are starting to become quite the wiggle worm. You kick kick kick those cute chubby little legs and squirm around.

Your hair is getting longer and longer amazing enough. It is pretty wild and crazy these days but we love it. People always stop us and comment about your hair and how it makes you look like a doll. We always joke how much older it makes you look an how you look like a little traveler who stopped at our door. You love to hold your little hands to your ears or you will hold them close to your chest like you praying. I love it! It is so sweet!

You still love love love that binki and swing of yours. You growl when you want the bink ad I swear you would hang out in that swing all day if I let you! You love any kind of movement so much Nana bought you your own travel swing at her house. That means no more lugging the big swing around for us!

You are starting to figure out when other people hold you beside your mama or daddy. I don't know how I feel about this one. You also light up when you see people you recognize! Its amazing how smart you already are. You acid reflux is starting to get under control and thankfully you are starting to spit up less.

You have the cutest little looks and expressions. I think I take twenty pictures of you a day so I can always remember them! I don't think you could get any sweeter or funnier!

Elle we want you to know how much we love you! The love we have for you is overwhelming sometimes. My favorite time of day is when I get to rock you while we listen to your music (you love music, we call your playlist Elsies tunes). You are such a beautiful and sweet little baby! I stare at you in amazement. I feel so humbled that I am blessed enough to be your mommy. You have given me the greatest gift I will ever receive! It is such an honor to be with you every day and watch you grow. There is nothing that compares to being a mother. I love watching how every ones face lights up when they are holding you. You have such a special little spirit and I know you have been blessed with some amazing talents! I cant wait to see what you do these one day! You are surrounded by love all day every day. You grandparents and aunts and uncles and friends love you so much and your parents love you more than you could ever comprehend. I hope you always remember that! Thank you for being you our sweetest angel!

Blessing

Elsie Sophia was blessed Sunday, April 25

Dave gave her such a beautiful blessing! I was so proud of them both. I will always remember that day. You always think about how much you love your child through out the day but it was that day that I really comprehended the overwhelming love we have for her and what a special little spirit she has. We love her so much and feel so blessed that she is ours!

We also are so lucky to have such amazing family and friends who supported us that day! It was so fun to get together after

Easter

We had such a fun Easter, especially since this was Elle's first!

The Easter bunny came and visited both Elle and Dave

We then went to my parents for brunch and then to Daves parents for dinner

Growing Like a Weed

We had Elsies two month check up this morning.

Here are her stats...

Weight 10 lbs 6 oz 38%

Height 22.24 inces 44%

She also had the get her shots today! How sad! Luckily Dave was there and held her so I didn't have to watch. Of course the second the first needle went in her face turned bright red and was a shade of purple by the time they were done. She was so sad! But settled down pretty quick after and has been doing just fine!

Happy Two Month Birthday Baby Girl!!

Little Baby Elle:

My how the time flies!! On one hand I feel like you were just born and on the other I feel like you have always been with us! You are the most precious baby and can I tell how much we love love love you!

Last night while I was holding you before you went to bed (because of your acid reflux, when I feed you late at night I have to keep you up for ten minutes so I get to cuddle you before you go down and it is my favorite time of day) I was thinking how you are growing up so fast! We love to see you grow, learn and discover new things, but it is I little bit harder for me than your Daddy to see you get so big so fast! You are slowly leaving the newborn stage and it is so bittersweet for your mama! I kept thinking last night how I will never get these little moments back with you, how how I need to treasure every stage you are at! I love rocking you in the chair and watching you bury your little face in my arms until you find that "sweet" spot. You are a comfort baby! You love to snuggle tight with you little check squished up to something soft. Until you get comfortable you want nothing to do with your Binky but once you get there you want that Binky fast. Its your fix. Your like a little shark, you literally snap your jaw once you even sense it is close.

You are such a little jibber jabber! After you are done eating you love to hang out and just coo away. It is as if you are really having a conversation with us. We love it! We also cant get enough of your smiles!! They are the best! You give such big smiles, your whole face lights up! It is the best part of being a mommy. You are starting to laugh too. One night at like 3 in the morning I heard you sort of choking on the monitor (you do this quite often) so I ran out of bed and ran into your room. I looked in your crib and you were smiling ear to ear. I told you that you scared mommy and you started to laugh a little! You also can be mid cry and all of the sudden stop and start smiling so big! Your a crack up. Speaking of crying.... you are like 0 to 60 in 2.5 seconds. For the most part you are happy as can be. But if your acid reflux is bugging you or you get super tired, watch out! You don't really cry, you all of the sudden go hysterical and your face turns a shade of purple. At first it freaked me out but now we are used to it. However when you do it in front of other people, we get some worried looks. You get that from your mama. I did the same thing, only I held my breathe. Thank heavens you don't do that.

Last night you started to kind of roll from your tummy to your back. We were so proud!! You get about half way there but cant quite figure out how to get over that other arm. You do your little frustrated burrow and then we help you the rest of the way. After you are so proud and smile so big!! You also love tummy time finally! You can hold your head up 90 degrees and you look so curious and concerned. Its adorable! We recently got you a swing that you cant get enough of! You could stay in it all day if I let you! Too bad you don't like your crib that much! We are getting much better about your crib. You go down just fine after your dinner and your late night feeding. But during the day is a different story. Now that we have black out blinds you are getting so much better. But I know you think your crib is uncomfortable and you would rather cozy up in your swing or papason. Thank heavens you sleep through the night! We put you down at 8, then I feed you at 10 ( but you stay asleep) and you don't really wake up until around 7. We love you for that and we hope you keep it up!

You give the cutest little looks! When we burp you, your beautiful little eyes go wide, you get a curious look and stare at everything. You also get a certain look on your face when you are exhausted. You clench your jaw and sort of stick it out and just stare into space. You have started to love walks and going in your stroller! Anytime of movement you love! Its so nice because I can run all sorts of errands with you and you don't make a peep... until you get hungry! You are starting to look at books when we read to you! So far I think your favorite book is "The Hungary Caterpillar". You still love bath time but you are starting to get mad when we wash that head of hair of yours. We love your long long dark locks. It is starting to lighten up a lot. Your roots literally look like the color of gold underneath all the dark.You have only lost one strand. I think it is in there to stay! Everywhere we go people love to comment about your hair. We joke that it makes you look like a mini adult!

Your such a sweet little baby! You are so good to just play and hang out with us but at the same time you have such personality! We love every minute of you and we are so glad your ours! We have so many hopes for you and know that you have many special gifts! We can already tell you are so beautiful inside and out. You make us proud every day! We love you baby!
